The NASDAQ Index ended the day down 2.26 percent, or 240.32 points, at 10,408.83. This was the index's biggest one-day percentage drop since June 24th.
The NASDAQ composite index fell to its lowest level in nearly three months on Thursday, as concerns about rising inflation and interest rates weighed on technology stocks.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 6.1 points, or 0.02%, at the open to 29,233.06. The S&P 500 rose 2.0 points, or 0.06%, at the open to 3,590.83, while the Nasdaq Composite fell 10.8 points, or 0.10%, to 10,436.996 at the opening bell.
Nasdaq divides business into three units to streamline operations. The New York-based stock exchange, which competes with CBOE Global Markets, NYSE and its parent Intercontinental Exchange Inc and BATS Global Markets, said the fourth quarter and full year 2022 results will reflect the changes.
